Salisbury Steak

1 can GOLDEN mushroom soup (not cream of mushroom)
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. bread crumbs
1/2 t. salt
1/8 t. pepper
1 onion, finely chopped (I usually sprinkle dehydrated onion instead)
1 egg, slightly beaten,
1/3 c. water

Heat oven to 350 degrees.
In a medium bowl, combine one fourth of the soup with remaining ingredients except water. Mix well. Shape into 6 oval patties and arrange in single layer in 13X9 baking dish.
Bake uncovered for 30 minutes. Skim off any fat. (not a problem with 93% lean meat.)
In a small bowl combine remaining soup and water (I do this while it is baking)
and spoon over cooked patties. Return to oven for 10 minutes.
Additional mushrooms could be added if desired.
